Welcome
Welcome to the Treasure Valley Chapter of the North American Versatile Hunting Dogs Association (“NAVHDA”). We serve southwestern Idaho and southeastern Oregon.
We are a subchapter to a nonprofit corporation whose purpose is to foster, promote, and improve the versatile hunting dog breeds in North America; to conserve game by using well-trained and reliable hunting dogs before and after the shot; and to aid in the prevention of cruelty to animals by discouraging nonselective and uncontrolled breeding.
This chapter trains and tests dogs in the spring and summer, and develops relationships that put people together to work their dogs on a variety of upland game and waterfowl during the fall and winter. We conduct educational events and training sessions, we sponsor NAVHDA-sanctioned tests, and we hold a few social events throughout the year.
Our goal is to help our members realize the full potential of their versatile hunting dogs as companions and hunting partners and we believe the foundation for all of that is the test data that allows for careful selective breeding. That is the mission of NAVHDA, and the mission our chapter strives to serve.
In short, we are here to further NAVHDA’s breeding, training, and testing programs as an ongoing contribution and improvement to the versatile hunting dog — your dog, and future dogs for many generations to come.
